Talking to Children about Tragedy

How to talk to children about the Manchester terror attack

In the wake of the terrorist attack on the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, many parents may be curious how to speak with their children about the tragedy. When addressing situations like this to children, it is best to meet them where they are. Have a conversation that meets the child’s interest: what details are they asking for, what do they want to know? Listen as much as talk.

It is important to help children continue to move forward and not avoid things out of fear. We can’t stop terrorism, but we also can’t stop living.
